Celebration of Yoga Day in Everest Base camp

Trek at one of the planet’s well known and scientific route, Mt. Everest with spiritual practice of yoga is the best ever idea to make your body and soul relaxed. So, on the occasion of International Yoga day Embassy of India, Kathmandu had organized a yoga event on June 16 at the base camp of Mount Everest, 17600 feet above the sea level. The event was taken place at Namche Bazar-gateway of Mount Everest.

The major objective of the yoga day celebration on Everest Base Camp was to define the importance of yoga in a person’s daily life as people today are busy 24/7 and have been taking stress long day. In gist, yoga is the best exercise for keeping our body charged and relaxed. Its major aim was also to promote peace and harmony across the continents, nations and people. On this auspicious event, ambassador of India to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri, Embassy officials as well as other members of embassy from various walks of life of Solukhumbu district participated. Moreover, Khumjung and Kunde Drinking Water Management Committee, Khumjung and Kunde Women and Youth Groups, officers of Sagarmatha National Park, employees of Everest View Hotel and large number of local people also anxiously joined the event.

The practice of Yoga event in Everest Base camp has been a huge success which would be remembered in the history. And the major event on the occasion of ‘International Yoga Day’ which is on June 21, would be leaded by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thus, practicing Yoga at the base of world’ highest peak Mt. Everest by Bharat Sharma from Gujrat, India along with other mountaineers is the first ever conducted event till today.
